If Starbucks really wants to go green ...

Then this is what they should do:

Provide reusable travel mugs for their regular customers. And then, when you go back the next day, you could drop off the dirty mug and get your coffee in a new, clean mug. With a 10 percent discount, of course.

Because really, cleaning those narrow travel mugs and all their switches and nooks and crannies is not pleasant. It's why I never use them. But if I never had to clean a travel mug, I'd happily use one every day.

good idea, but it might be too costly in the long run. more expensive cups, the chance of people never returning them and the cost of handling, washing and maintaining the cups might be too much. What they SHOULD do is use recycled materials for their products and offer a recycle bin for cups at the stores. Those cups can then be consolidated and recycled.
