Question of the Week

Reader Sarah F. writes:
"which do you think is better: silestone or granite?"

Hmmm, great question, Sarah! After reading up on the merits of both stones, I am going to answer that granite is better. Silestone can certainly be considered a modern marvel - a feat of engineering, if you will. But Sarah, granite is from the earth. Granite is forever.

Question of the Week

Reader Sarah F. writes:
"just wondering how you keep up with work and your blog?"

Hmmm, great question, Sarah! Truthfully, it's all about priorities. It's never an easy choice when it comes down to work, wine, and blogging. I say to all those in the same position: Think about where your funding comes from, and then think about where your fun comes from.

If Starbucks really wants to go green ...

Then this is what they should do:

Provide reusable travel mugs for their regular customers. And then, when you go back the next day, you could drop off the dirty mug and get your coffee in a new, clean mug. With a 10 percent discount, of course.

Because really, cleaning those narrow travel mugs and all their switches and nooks and crannies is not pleasant. It's why I never use them. But if I never had to clean a travel mug, I'd happily use one every day.
